WhatsApp Messaging Policy
Rules for clinic-initiated WhatsApp messages sent through Careflow.
Last updated: 16 July 2026
1. Official platform only
Careflow integrates with the official WhatsApp Business Cloud API (Meta). Clinics must comply with Meta's WhatsApp Business terms, commerce, and messaging policies in addition to this policy.
2. Clinic as message originator
Messages are sent on behalf of the clinic using numbers and templates configured by the clinic. The clinic is responsible for message content accuracy, consent, and opt-outs.
3. Allowed use
Transactional and service messages related to care coordination are primary uses, for example appointment confirmations, reminders, invoice summaries, recall notices, and review requests, subject to applicable law and Meta template rules.
4. Prohibited use
- Spam, phishing, or deceptive content
- Unlawful marketing without required consent
- Harassment or discriminatory content
- Content that violates medical advertising rules in your jurisdiction
- Using scraped or purchased contact lists without a lawful relationship
5. Opt-out
Careflow supports patient WhatsApp opt-out flags at the patient record level. Clinics must honor opt-outs promptly and not attempt to circumvent them.
6. Availability
Message delivery depends on Meta, network carriers, and patient device state. Careflow does not guarantee delivery, read receipts, or timing.
